Tokens of Affection

Beautiful and colorful cards, bouquets of  flowers, Hallmark singing/funny/ awesome cards, phone calls, hugs, love letters, a trip to a movie theater, walking hand in hand along the windy, cold beach, are very important to each and every single human being to feel. It is so important that there is designated day for all of us to take a moment and think how you can outdo yourself to impressed your love ones and that can be very expensive...

All of the above are different types tokens of affection that we often give and get from the people we love but most importantly,  from our better half.

We stand infront of the card section at Target or Hallmark for more than 10 minutes trying to find that perfect card to give and if you're like me, you will have to come back to look for that card again since 10 minutes just isn't enough, or sometimes you just don't find it and just make your very own one.

We call our love ones but mostly we call our parents since they don't live with us and to let them know how much they mean to us and then exchanged words of love over the phone.

Some people maybe still into snail mail. I missed those type of things, writing your own words for someone to read to let that person know how much you care and put them in the mail, then wait for the reply for weeks..LOL... kind of exciting while you're in a process of waiting. But I'd prefer the internet for it's faster.

For this year, no walk hand in hand by the windy, cold beach, no dozens of roses or pot of orchids, no chocolate bars or cards for hubby and I to exchange but we are cool with that. Instead, hubby had tickets for the "Twin Spirits"  and a necklace for me. I was able to give him the most needed love and hugs. I sound cheap but hey..umm..ummm.. k.. I can put price tag on them too if he wants me too..LOL. you know what I mean.?? or maybe not.. just forget it.

Okay, for real I just want to be with him, to laugh with , cry with, and get mad with. Combine all those mentioned and he's got a woman whom he's able to confide all that troublesome adventures in life he's experienced yesterday, now and tomorrow and  with no doubt, wants him forever.

Every year we celebrate our Valentine's Day differently. And this year was something to remember. Went to the show and was also able to attend the party after the show which a few meters away from the Mark Taper Forum in Downtown Los Angeles. AT the party, we were able to meet or just look at some celebrities. Like Joh Lithgow whom narrated the story of "Twin Spirits". He was talking to people but I had no chance to have a photo with him. One other popular person that attended the show and party was the Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr. I tell you, that man isn't friendly at all, naughty boy and very comfronting type of person.

Sting and Trudie were there and we were able to get a not so good photos but enough to satisty my husband. My experiences with Sting having our photos had been excellent. He is a very nice guy but for sure if you push his button, he will throw you off. When we were leaving, we tried to say goodbye to him and my husband got a handshake from him and I got a very nice warm hug. This is the second time he gave me a hug. I couldn't believed myself that I extended my right arm to his shoulder after experiencing the Mr Robert Downey Jr moment. Anyhow, it was a lovely night. My first born came over to watch her little bro while we were gone. So with that, it was some night to remember for me.

The Twin Spirits was played by Sting and his wife Trudie.

More info about the story can be found in here. The Twin Spirits.
